Chamberlain MyQ® Home Bridge and MyQ® App

This post is sponsored by Chamberlain. I was paid for this post and received the featured Home Bridge as compensation. Having control of the entire house with my phone through an app makes me feel secure about leaving the kids at home. Adding to the garage to control just gives me more peace of mind. When we are leaving in a rush it’s never easy to work through the “leaving checklist.” I end up wondering, “Did I turn the lights off, and shut the garage door?” Ability to connect garage door opener to IFTTT or Google Home (assistant).

With the Chamberlain MyQ® Home Bridge and devices, I can regain that peace of mind by merely double checking myself. It’s no big deal if I didn’t because with an easy touch I can close the garage or turn off the lights. This has saved me both money and time, as I don’t have to turn around and double-check. The installation was super easy. Merely download the app and connect the devices. Along with giving me peace of mind about if/if not I closed the garage or left the lights on, it also allows me to know if there’s any activity in the garage. Having a teenager in the house, I can monitor them leaving, letting me know of their mischievous activities. It also allows me to know if someone comes through the garage when we are away, so I can contact someone to check on it and make sure nothing is happening at home. Compatible with Apple HomeKit™, adding the ability to ask for the status of the garage door and control MyQ®- enabled devices with voice control via Siri®.

Being able to make schedules of when to shut the garage or turn off the lights is also convenient. At night, when my husband comes home, he always forgets to shut the garage door. So, I can set it up so that it automatically closes late at night. The greatest feature the MyQ® Home Garage has is the ability to give peace of mind and sense of calm to the owner. Plugfones Guardian Earphones!

I have tried so many pairs of headphones, and finding one as sturdy and as handy as these Plugfones Guardian earphones. I use them to listen to audiobooks, music, TV, Netflix and Youtube on my phone. Where ever I am these headphones are. These headphones have been through everything with me and I’m loving it, I know I can rely on them. The sound is great, the vocals are so clear (which is one of my favorite parts).

The sound quality is great, it makes it easier to enjoy a movie or my college lecture and I don’t have to go back and rewatch it because I heard it clearly the first time. It’s not scratchy or going in and out which makes it wonderful to work with. Another great thing is that these earphones block out a good amount of outside noise, making it more comfortable to enjoy your show or music you are watching. Also when mowing the lawn I don’t have to listen to the annoying lawnmower (thank the Lord).

The earphone itself is very comfy, it can fit comfortably in your ears with a motorcycle helmet on. Which I have found very hard to find if it fits comfortably inside a motorcycle helmet it usually hurts my ears so I was super thrilled when I found out it did not hurt!! Not only are they comfy but they are also professional and stylish. I can wear them in any setting and feel comfortable with the looks. I highly recommend this product. These earphones are priced at $34.99. They would be a great gift for Christmas, birthdays, even an anniversary, or if you just feel like spoiling yourself.

This product is one of a kind! This is an ad! #ad #sponsored

Although this is a sponsored post for Now That’s What I Call Music, it is 100% my own opinion.

Every year we look forward to latest Now CD. It is a tradition, my daughter and I buy it and listen to it a hundred times. Even now that my daughter is an adult we still have to spend the day listening to it. I love the convenience of having all of the best songs together.

Selectivor Food App #selectivor #eattogether

Having a large family makes it hard to plan an event we can all attend much less trying to find something to eat. Of course, when the family finally gets a chance to come together you will want to make everyone happy and their food preferences satisfied as in leaving full!

Selectivor is such a simpler and easier way of organizing your eating preferences, share them with others and find similar foods everyone can enjoy. I think the name is adorable because it reminds me of a “carnivore” which makes me think of dinosaurs. Very clever name picking, however, the name is just one of the many added bonuses of this product.
On Selectivor you able to create your own custom eating profile! For starters, you will only fill out three short sentences. These sentences are selected from 80 physician-curated templates and almost 600 hundred foods. Which makes it easy to know what is okay and what is not to bring to the family dinner! I loved making my profile, and the fact I knew I would be filling everyone’s stomach. Another amazing thing about making your very own custom profile is the fact I am able to put it on private so only close family can view it. I love this because I do not feel exposed or as if I’m leaving anyone out when fixing my meals.
For our last family reunion, Selectivor came in so handy! I am so impressed and would recommend this to anyone. I was thrilled to serve things I KNEW they would enjoy instead of having to call everyone or message them saying “Will you eat this dessert or that dessert”. This is definitely something worth trying!!
This is a sponsored campaign although, this is 100% my own opinion.

Geek Chic: Top Tech To Transform Your Home

https://www.pexels.com/photo/black-frame-eyeglasses-on-silver-macbook-air-159417/

You don’t have to be a techie to fall in love with tech. Sometimes, we see technology as something scary, complicated, and that’s kept for the computer geeks of the world. But now that our modern world is changing, this couldn’t be any further from the truth. Technology can actually make our lives easier – in so many ways. And if you’re okay with using a smartphone and browsing social media, there’s no reason why you can’t get on board with having tech around the home. Because you can actually use some really cool pieces of technology to transform the way you use your home.

Smart Home Stuff

First of the list, smart home technology. Now, this can seem quite futuristic to some, but it’s really very simple as the products and posts on A Connected Home show us. You can use things like remote controlled heating, lighting and even music operation to customize your home. Want to automate your garage door, set your curtains to close on a timer, or even turn your oven on to pre-heat on your way home from work? Then you’re going to want a smart home hub in your life!

Security Essentials

Another way that tech can really improve your home life, is through security. Even if you live in a safe neighborhood, you never know who’s going to be lurking about. And it’s better to be safe than sorry. With technology, you can add in CCTV cameras and check in on them on your smartphone. You could also think about setting a passcode entry system at the entrance of your house, and even use the smart home stuff mentioned above to scare intruders off too.

Home Theater Must-Haves

If your family loves to watch movies together, then why not think about adding in some home theater essentials? Whether you want to add some key pieces to your living space or set up a separate home theater room that you can all relax in to watch your favorite movies, there’s the tech to make this happen. With flatscreens or projectors, you can use tech to tailor your movie watching nights to your needs.

Work & Study Whizzes

If you work at home or have the odd project to finish in the evenings, or even if your kids like to study in a set space with you, you can also use tech to transform your home office. And this doesn’t just mean your laptop and other devices. Speak to your WiFi provider and see if you can’t find a faster service, looking wireless printers and a personal server – even a music speaker system to keep you motivated too!

Kitchen Kit

And, of course, there’s always the cool and quirky high-tech gadgets you can add to the kitchen. From instant hot water taps and multi cooking machines to TVs in the backslash and smartphone charging countertops, you could definitely say that technology has the power to completely transform your kitchen.

Unique Gift Ideas For Colleagues

If you’re working in an office, you’ll be well aware that the holiday party season is fast approaching, so you need to get creative! Gifts for the people you work for can be the most difficult to plan out. After all, for the most part, you may not be particularly close with your colleagues, and you may also not have a clue what they would enjoy. There are some rules that come with giving gifts in the office and the etiquette can make you question whether you have made the right choice. There’s nothing that says, ‘I care about you’ more than a gift for your friend or loved one that keeps them safe and makes them happy. Surprisingly, gifts that are aimed at safety are quite popular for those close to you, employees, employers and even the neighbors.

Knowing that someone has handed you a present designed to ensure that you can go about your daily business and feel secure while you do it can feel like a warm hug: someone clearly thinks about your wellbeing when they’re not there! There are plenty of ideas and options out there for the office gift bingo, so why not check out some of our suggestions below?

Safety. We mentioned gifts that are ‘safety’ related for people around you to show them that you care. If you’ve got a fashion-conscious recipient chosen for you, then you should look into the Bricraft RFID wallet, which can prevent identity fraud as well as act as a stylish accessory. You could also go for a travel mug like this one. It may not initially strike you as a good gift for safety purposes, but there are no more chances to spill scalding drinks with one of these, so we think it’s pretty safe! While we’re talking spillage, this Drinklip Portable Cupholder is great for those who are constantly having to mop up knocked drinks!

Office Supplies. If you’re taking the time to get to know your co-workers, you’re bound to discover if any of them are stationary mad. Pretty notebooks like these and this funky floppy disk post-it notes set are perfect and perfectly nostalgic!

Mildly Techy. Working in an office means being around computers and other technology pretty much all the time. Stylish wooden phone docks like this are perfect for the office and is a nice little organizer for the trailing cables and random pencils lying around.

IT Gift. For the IT team that you draw from the office hat, why not have a look at this recycled computer hard drive clock? It’s a brilliant gift for someone who appreciates the complexities of computing!

Choosing gifts for colleagues is often hard. They have to be suitable for the workplace, usually within a budget and always appropriate for the age and style of the person you’re gifting to. Not always an easy concept! However, keep it light, keep it fun and make it relevant and your gift choices cannot miss!

Cujo Smart Firewall Stay Safe Online

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.

I grew up, many years ago, in a small town. People made deals by handshakes and your word meant you would do it! My father was a roofer and I remember he would always say “let’s shake on it”. They knew his word was a good as gold.

We don’t live in that world anymore and although I have seen so much good in people these last few weeks, going through Hurricane Harvey, I know the bad people are still out there.  Our home had minor damage in Rockport, we were the fortunate few. I witnessed firsthand people helping strangers and doing everything possible to assist each other. I was so proud to witness this.

But within days the “bad people” started coming around. I heard of looting in Houston, scammers receiving money from Dolly Parton’s donation. People applying and receiving funds from FEMA for homes, they didn’t live in. We know these people are out there so we have to be prepared!

I use the CUJO Smart Firewall at home to keep me safe online. I use my computer for my home business, therefore I can not take any chances. My husband does a lot of his work on his laptop on the weekends and we like knowing we are being protected. But mostly, I love knowing I can control what my grandsons watch when they are over. We have an iPad for them to use but are very concerned about them going where they shouldn’t so we set up the parental controls to help us monitor their views.

Since it has business-level security and easily plugs into your wifi router, I am confident that at least we can be protected in our home. I downloaded the app to help monitor the boy’s use, I can also turn their connection off when they hit their time limit.

A Better Way to Plan Projects

A Better Way to Plan Projects

When you are planning out your own schedule, a paper notebook may be handy, but for big team projects, you should rely on a trusted software solution like Steelray’s Microsoft Project Viewer.

It is back to school season, and little ones are marching off to meet their new teachers with backpacks full of books and new school supplies. Buses are running their new routes and parents are scrambling to make sure lunches are packed, children have brushed their teeth and washed their faces, and everyone is out the door in a timely fashion to ensure the kids are ready and at their desks before the first bell rings.

The nostalgia of returning to school can dredge up a pantheon of emotions for adults. Maybe it is the first year a little one is heading off to a classroom without them, and the separation takes some extra adjustment. Perhaps, a parent with a 17- or 18-years-old is experiencing the bittersweet realization that it is their child’s last year of high school before exploring the limitless world which so graciously lays at their feet. Or maybe it is something much simpler, and reminiscing about school days conquerors up memories of a simpler time of exploring new hallways and lockers preparing for the first day of class. Whatever the reason, the time surrounding Labor Day is when grocery and convenience stores stock their shelves with seemingly endless aisles of highlights, pens, notebooks, and planners. Everything a student needs to make it a smooth transition back to the rigors of maintaining a schedule full of reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Many adults cherish those memories of shopping for school supplies, and they find themselves in the throes of the re-enacting childhood memories by purchasing their own new office supplies. Just like their children, they get a few new items to reinvigorate the time they spend in the office. For many women, a new planner is an epitome of school and office supply paraphernalia. Now, it seems planners are all the rage. There are Instagram accounts to washi tape and YouTube accounts on bullet journals. Erin Condren is an understood household name for millennial moms across the country.

As cute and trendy as some of those planners are, when it comes down to brass tax, in the office you may need to rely on something with more adaptability and functionality, like Microsoft Project & Portfolio Management (Microsoft PPM). Microsoft PPPM is a software solution which allows project managers to streamline large-scale jobs, through multi faceted tools helping them manage portfolios, timelines, and materials. More importantly, it is the most trusted software application in corporate America for planning compounding project schedules. Project Managers have the ability to track every step of a project’s status with just a few simple clicks.

Modern office supplies are much more technology driven than days of old. So while little ones pack up to go back to school, consider a new Project Management software solution for your next big job.

Microsoft PPM does have some functionality restraints, however, and Brian Leach the CEO of Steelray a software technology company based out of Atlanta, Georgia, recognized those shortcomings and developed a partner software, Microsoft Project Viewer. Microsoft Project Viewer is a complimentary software solution for Microsoft PPM and Primavera P6 (another type of project management software). It gives users the ability to view .mpp files in the same core views and with the same schedules as they would in Microsoft PPM, but it expands on their printing, viewing, and sharing capabilities. It is not a replacement or a clone of a company’s current Project Management software; it is an enhancement. Moreover, it allows multiple users to simultaneously view detailed tasks of a long-term project, something a small, spiral bound notebook just cannot do. Companies with detail-oriented timelines which deal in areas like construction and national defense utilize and trust Microsoft Project Viewer to keep them on task, on time, and on budget; but it is suitable for companies and projects of all sizes.

An additional advantage to Steelray’s Microsoft Project Viewer is it costs significantly less to implement than its parent solution, Microsoft PPM. It does this because only the Project Manager needs Microsoft PPM and the other team members can rely on Microsoft Project Viewer, a less expensive software. With the decreased need for Microsoft PPM licenses, you instantly reduce your software overhead and project expenses. Users with Microsoft Project Viewer enjoy the same template views as Microsoft PPM, so it is a smooth and seamless transition. However, comparatively speaking, the added savings is a huge benefit.

When a simple pocket-sized calendar with a lovely cover design does not cut it for planning your team’s schedules and tasks, consider adopting a software solution trusted by the likes of GE Healthcare, IBM, Nokia, Deloitte, Nike, and Lockheed Martin, Microsoft Project Viewer.
