How to protect yourself when selling items online – Seller’s Beware

Usually, if it sounds weird, it is! I listed a couch and loveseat recently on Facebook Marketplace and immediately started getting messages. I thought wow did I price it too low? But it didn’t take long, once I started conversing back and forth, to realize they all have similar storylines…   Call me at ***-****, I want to pick it up today.

I thought that is weird but after the first attempt to call a number, I got no answer and then a text immediately stating they are interested and need to make sure I am a person, can they send me a code. I said, you can facetime or call me back.  I then stated know I am real, I am replying to the text.  The “potential buyers” don’t take no for an answer so I did a little research and found they want your phone number and this code to have access to your information.  I found this story while looking up why a code: Scam Alert – Seller’s Beware!

I, fortunately, didn’t fall for it and explained that they can call me or come look at the couch. None of this was what they had in mind. They wanted to scam me.

The next scam was messages sent stating they wanted it but couldn’t pick it up and needed to send me Zelle’s payment. Of course, they never have seen it and didn’t know me so why would they just want to send me money immediately.

I again wanted to see how this could be a scam since three messages in a row all said similar stores and sure enough, it is also a scam.  You see Zelle is legit and they just need your phone number to send the money. But they will claim they need more information, such as your email address. After reading up on this I have learned that this is not the case. They want it so they can gain access to your Zelle account and then your bank account.

I can’t imagine how many people these scammers scam a day. I imagine a lot if that many were trying to scam me at one time, this is a very popular attempt. You can never be too careful and again if it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t!

6 Ways to Focus on Your Health

So many people are focusing more on health lately and that makes me so happy! If you are getting on the “improve your health” train, here are 6 ways to focus on your health

Focus on your eating

Whether weight loss is or is not one of your goals this year, focusing on your eating habits can dramatically help you improve your health this year. Why? For starters, eating a diet full of processed foods can slow down your metabolism, and you are probably eating a lot of ingredients that are not so good for you – ingredients that you can’t pronounce. That’s why reading nutritional labels on your food (if you are buying processed) is important. Look out for the total amount of calories a product contains, and not just for 1 serving (which is typically what’s stated on the label). But, when reading nutrition labels, it is not just about the calories. The most important part is the ingredients. Reading nutrition labels will help you to avoid only reading marketing labels like “high in fiber”, “low fat” or “zero sugar”, as these labels may be misleading. While a product is “high in calcium,” it could also be high in sugar – a detail you may have missed if you hadn’t read the nutrition label. Some of the better eating habits that you might want to focus on are: only buy processed foods with ingredients that you are familiar with, focus on more fresh produce and meat, cut out a lot of non-organic food, and reduce your portion sizes. As always, your eating habits should be fine-tuned to your specific needs and goals!

Stay current with appointments

A critical aspect of health? Make sure you do a check-up on your overall health by going to appointments like the doctor and the dentist. If you need a new dentist, I have a great recommendation for you. Metro Decatur Dental Group PC is a local GA-based dentist that does general dental wellness appointments, wisdom teeth removal in Decatur GA, orthodontics, and more repairs when needed. They accept insurance, have great reviews, and are known for being super gentle and caring!

Eat slower

Did you know that eating too quickly can cause weight gain? According to quite a bit of research, faster eaters are more likely to be overweight, as compared to people who eat more slowly. WHAT?! In one study, it was also suggested that this is 115% more likely to happen in middle-aged women. As you eat, your body releases ‘fullness hormones’ that tell your brain you’ve eaten and should stop. However, as this process takes about 20 minutes, speedy eaters may consume too much food and only receive this signal later – which explains the ‘post-buffet bloat’ you may feel after a satisfying meal. The next time you’re having a meal, make a conscious effort to eat slower and observe the effect on your appetite.

Get more sleep

Sleep deprivation affects both your physical and mental health. Our bodies need at least seven to eight hours of sleep (you might even need more depending on your current health and activity levels) during which our brains and bodies are working hard to maintain immune systems, memory strength, and even hunger levels. Some simple steps to getting enough sleep include setting a regular sleep-wake schedule, limiting caffeine, relieving stress, and getting enough physical activity, which will help to promote deeper, restful sleep.

Stay hydrated

You may have heard of the saying to “drink 8 glasses of water a day”, yet not many may follow this because a lot of people often choose to count their total liquid intake instead – which usually includes sodas, coffee, and other beverages. There are numerous benefits of drinking more water – it helps us to control our calorie intake, energizes our muscles, keeps our kidneys healthy, and hydrates the skin. As you stay hydrated with water, you’ll also find yourself having fewer cravings for sugary or less healthy beverages. Increasing your water intake will help you improve your health, no matter what your long-term goals are!

Work on your mental health

Health does not just begin and end with physical health. Mental health needs to be considered, as well, especially since mental health has been on the decline. A lot of these physical health goals or improvements should help with mental health (like eating better + working out). However, make sure you are focusing on your mental health as an individual thing to improve. You deserve to feel great both physically AND mentally.

How To Set Goals For The Future

There is always so much to do – everyone is on the go, the world is spinning around, and it might seem like we’re stuck in the middle with nowhere to go and nothing to say. That is a difficult challenge. This might happen when we have no specific plans for the future, so when we get to a fork in the road or a dead end, we tend to simply stop. What else can you do? You can set goals and make plans for the future; read on to find out more.

Identify Your Goals

To keep moving forward in life, you need to find the goals that will take you to the next stage. Write down what you want to do and figure out how to do it. Do you, for example, need to go back to school? If so, it’s time to look for the best colleges, evening classes, or even online correspondence courses. Find a way to get a new qualification or piece of knowledge around your current obligations, and the next step in your plan will be much easier to reach. Some people think that education is out of their reach, but that’s not the case; great strides have been made by people like Professor Michael Fraas to ensure equality in education, so it’s down to you to make the most of it.

Talk About It

Talk about your goals once you know what they are and how to get to the next step. If you tell people about your goals, you’re making a real promise to yourself and your friends and family that you’ll achieve them. This can be a great way to get motivated, and it often works much better than just having an idea in your head and loosely trying to get there. If you tell other people what you’re planning, you can talk to them about it, and you might learn something new that will help you along the way.

Take Small Steps

Trying to do everything at once can really be too much, and that can make you want to rethink your goals or even put them on hold. Instead of trying this and getting stuck again, break it down into smaller steps. When you reach one goal, move on to the next. This is a lot easier and more manageable, and before you know it, you’ll have gotten where you wanted to go without worrying about it.

Be Patient

People say that patience is a virtue, and this is definitely true when planning for the future. Nothing will happen all at once, especially if you have been stuck for a long time. It will take some time before you can get your life back on track. But don’t give up. It may take a long time, but that time is going to go by anyway, so it’s much better to use it to do something useful than to do nothing.

Be Realistic

No matter what your goals are, it’s good to have great hopes and exciting aspirations, but they should also be as real as possible. That makes it much more likely that they will be reached. You also need to know what you can and can’t do with your body, your mind, and even your emotions. Trying to force yourself to do something you can’t do will only make you unhappy and set you back on your path.

How to Teach Your Children to Think Creatively

There is nothing more amazing than watching a child think. Many parents believe that children don’t know very much because they are children. It may be true in some respects, but children are a lot smarter and a lot brighter than we think they are. Children love to doodle on rainy days, make up stories, and play pretend where in their minds they can see everything that they are pretending to do play out right in front of them.

Children can believe in make-believe, which means that this world of make-believe comes to life for them. Children are sponges when it comes to learning, they can take on so much more information than we think they can, and they can turn into something real in their minds. The beauty of this is that children can be as creative as possible without much effort.

As a parent, you are in a fortunate and privileged position to be able to teach your children how to think creatively. You can bust out the months of the year worksheets, and help them to turn these learning sheets into something fun and colorful. You can take them on vacation and see how they react when they are in natural situations on the beach. You’ll be able to see them build sandcastles and in their mind, they’re envisioning a real-life castle with princesses and knights and round tables and swords. It’s a very privileged position to be in as a parent because you get to see the wonder of the world through the eyes of your children. In this article, we are going to explore why creativity is so important for your child and then we’re going to go over a few of the best ways that you could help them to think creatively.

Why is Creativity So Important?

Did you know that creativity can improve the way your brain develops cognitively? Those who are from a musical background tend to have strong links between the two hemispheres of the brain because they learn to play with both hands at the same time. Creative thinking can help you to develop neural connections as well as brand new concepts, and the same is true for your children. Their brains are going to be able to develop creatively when you are putting them in positions that inspire creativity.

Creative activities can improve mood and well-being, and when people are focused on a creative project that much light please adds to feel more happy and involved. Putting children in a space where they can be creative and explore is one of the best ways to help inspire them to be great. There are plenty of reasons why children should be creative, and we’ve got some of the best tips that you need to help your child to explore their imagination and reach into creativity.

  • Teach your children to ask questions

If you want to truly encourage your children to think creatively, teach them to ask questions. Even if the questions go beyond the norm, they should be encouraged so that your child can explore. Those questions that start with what if are the questions that matter the most because then they can come up with unique answers and be imaginative and inspired at the same time. You could talk about what if there were lots of jelly at the end of the rainbow instead of pots of gold? You could ask what if one day your teacher was replaced by a giraffe? These are silly questions in the adult world, but for a child, they will conjure up those images in their minds and be able to put them to paper, you can draw the things that you discussed and see what it would look like if a giraffe was teaching a classroom full of children. It’s fun and it helps everybody to laugh and play.

  • Seek the positives

Children are supposed to make mistakes and they shouldn’t be berated for it. Adults make mistakes all the time and we cover our mistakes with explanations and begging for forgiveness. Berating a child for making a mistake they don’t know they are making is a problem. If you want to keep encouraging children to think creatively, or they are struggling with learning a new concept, you need to be able to help them to see it in a different light and remain patient with them. Berating them for making a mistake is a problem but seeking positives in a mistake they have made is beautiful. Does it matter if the sunshine on their paper is green instead of yellow? Does it matter if they have portrayed the family to include bears, lions, or tigers? Let them be creative and be gentle when you need to correct them.

  • Encourage their interests

If your child is more interested in crafting with plasticine than paint, stick to what they enjoy. There are a lot of sensory issues surrounding creativity and crafting, so don’t push the issue. Help your child to be creative in a way that’s comfortable for them and you ensure they are happy while they do it. If your child wants to learn to draw or sing, sign them up for lessons and classes that will help. No matter what your children are interested in, encourage that, feed that, and watch the creativity bloom.

  • Ask what they like

Children are naturally creative individuals but it’s only going to work that way if you ask them what they like to do. Open-ended questions can help to boost creativity as much as possible so that you can help them to answer questions in a broader way rather than just yes or no. It’s one of the best ways that you can help your children to form their ideas, which is exactly what you want to encourage as they grow up.

  • Get outside – and get muddy

If you want your children to think creatively they need to go and get creative – so get the galoshes on it’s time to get muddy! There is plenty of research to show that getting out into nature is not just good for mental health but can improve creativity, too. Studies show that spending time outdoors can enhance curiosity and encourage flexible thinking which is exactly what you want to do with the children. Children going outside means they get to spend time creating a whole new world that they are playing in. It’s why they play cowboys and bad guys and that’s why they play cops and robbers and that’s why they decorate the mud kitchen! Children get lucky, but it’s one of the ways that they can explore and expand their range.

  • Keep reading together

Creativity can be bred when you read together with your child. Reading allows you to spend time getting into the world that isn’t yours and understanding new concepts and new perceptions. As a grown-up, you probably love to read. Introducing your children to read as a whole new ballgame. Reading together and acting out the silly voices and talking about the story is a great way to help your child to expand their imagination. Help them to deep dive into a whole new world and make a point of reading a single day at least one chapter of a book. They will love the time spent with you but they will love being able to create this world and their minds even more.

5 Ways to Focus on Self-Growth

Self-growth is something that every single person can work on every day of their life, no matter how great they think they are. Self-growth is extremely important to focus on and it’s helpful to incorprate some sort of self-care and self-growth techniques each day. You might have heard the quote “Make the most of yourself for that is all there is of you” by Ralph Waldo Emerson and it is so true. You only have one life to live and if you take care of yourself and try to grow and improve each day, you will have a life that was well lived at the end of your time here on Earth.

We all make mistakes and it is very easy to get off track with your self-growth if you let it get to you, but that does not mean that we cannot take those moments of weakness and turn them into something great. Take those mistakes and turn them into learning experiences so that the next time a situation like that one rolls around, you will know exactly what to do. That’s what growing is all about. We start from the bottom and learn to work our way up into greatness – we are not born into it, so give yourself grace and love because growth will come in time.

Just as I mentioned above, you need to give yourself grace. It is easy to get upset at yourself if you did not handle a situation the right way, but take that as a learning opportunity and forgive yourself for your behavior. Whatever you are holding onto – forgive. Forgiving yourself is so important because you cannot fully move and grow until you do so. Also, make sure you forgive the ones around you, as well. So many people hold on to negativity and feelings of hate and this is huge because you are being dragged down by these feelings each day. Once you forgive yourself and others, you will be set free.

Focus on transparency

Transparency is the foundation of everything. Practicing transparency means being vulnerable and honest, and accepting your story. You have to honest, especially with yourself. Practicing transparency means complete honesty in where you’re at, what you’re struggling with, and the courage to chase that string down to find out why. This leads to the second half of practicing transparency: accepting your story. Most people want to rip out chapters; they spend their days regretting and wishing things didn’t happen the way they did. But this keeps you stuck in what could have been instead of what can be. The more you accept your story, the more transparent you will be. And the more you practice transparency, the richer your growth.

Shoot for the stars

Aim for bigger and better things and reach for the stars. When you have big goals to reach, it will definitely help you stay on track with your growth. You can make big goals for yourself, but you also need to make smaller, more attainable goals to hit along the way, as well, so that you do not feel like you are not accomplishing anything. When you hit each small goal, you will feel so proud of yourself (and your growth), and it will motivate you to keep continuing on.

Don’t be afraid to say no

Say no when you need to and do it frequently. In our day and age, we’ve learned to be the “Yes Man” – the person who is down for everything. I’m sure you’ve heard the term, ride or die. People who are up for anything get worn down and to grow, you need to be able to say no when it’s the right choice for YOU.

Get help from an outsider

Last but not least, sometimes getting help from an outsider like a counselor, or like Pure Hypnosis | Sean Wheeler is a really great way to get past your hold-ups like fears, anxieties, and more. Kailyn Lowry and Ex Jo Rivera Became “Best Friends” Again After Her Divorce

They have had their fair share of ups and downs, but now, Kailyn Lowry reveals that she and ex Jo Rivera have become “best friends” again after her very violatile split from Javi Marroquin. Kailyn, who shares custody of her 7 year old son Issac with Jo, opened up to MTV news about her relationship with her ex. The two, who were former high school sweethearts, have not been on good terms for the past few years. “Jo and I hated each other’s guts… we were not good friends and we barely coparented.” The blonde beauty revealed. “All of a sudden, it’s a complete 180. Now we’re best friends- I can tell him anything. I can call him, and we can switch weekends easily, or if I need him to get Issac from school, we are so good now.”

Jo, who is now father to a 17 month old daughter ViVi, with his longtime girlfriend Vee Torres, and Kailyn fought much of the time during their stint on “16 and Pregnant”, and also on “Teen Mom 2”, so it’s so nice to see them getting along now. Kailyn’s pregnancy test revealed she’s now pregnant with her third child, and in the middle of a divorce from Javi, who she shares a 3 year old son, Lincoln, with. That split has not went well, and Kailyn says that she and Javi never talk. While she has not revealed who the father of her third child is, we are glad to hear that she and Jo are getting along better now.

Homestead raising chickens and planting fruit trees

If you’re starting a homestead, there are a lot of things to think about. You may be excited about the thought of fresh eggs from your chickens and homegrown fruit, but it’s important not to get ahead of yourself. Building your homestead is serious business, and it doesn’t mean just doing whatever pops into your head. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for making the most out of your new homestead!

Chicken housing

When raising chickens, you will need to provide housing for them. Chickens can be kept in a coop or barn, but I would highly recommend getting an outdoor pen for your chickens. A good place for a chicken pen is near the garden where they can eat bugs that are attracted to the fruits and vegetables you plant in your garden. Alternatively, you could also use it as a holding area at night until morning when you let them out into their pasture (chickens love eating grass).

When building your pen make sure that there are no gaps between boards on the fence or it may allow predators like cats and raccoons to enter easily!

Chicken feed

Chickens are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals. They need a lot of vitamins and minerals to grow up strong and healthy. So what do you feed your chicks?

Chick Starter is the good basic food for young chicks who have just started laying eggs or have not yet laid any eggs at all. The ingredients in this type of feed are ground corn, soybean meal, corn gluten meal, wheat middling, and dried whey protein concentrate (this last ingredient is high in calcium). The addition of soybean meal makes this chicken feed lower in protein than other types of chick starters but still provides plenty for young growing birds.

Chickens are a great addition to your homestead. Not only do they produce eggs, but they also eat pests and weeds! Chickens are one of the best ways to fertilize your soil and keep it healthy.

They can even help with pest control by eating insects like ticks or grubs that can harm your plants.

Buying fruit trees

A fruit tree is a perennial plant that bears fruit, typically edible and sweet. There are thousands of different varieties, including apples, pears, persimmons, and cherries. Fruit trees can be grown from seeds or grafted onto rootstock (the roots of another tree).

Fruit trees should be planted in the dormant season when the days are short and cool. The ideal soil pH for most fruit trees is 6.0–6.5; however, some fruits prefer slightly more acidic or alkaline soil conditions than this range allows for optimal growth so check before buying!

Fruit tree care

  • Watering
  • Pruning
  • Fertilizing
  • Pest control (i.e., fruit fly, scale insects, etc.)
  • Transplanting trees from one location to another (or from a pot to the ground) should be done in the fall or winter months when there is less chance of frost damage. It’s best not to transplant when trees are actively growing in spring or summer as this can cause shock and stress that could result in loss of crop production for several years following transplantation. * Rootstock – This refers to the variety of rootstock that is used by nurserymen when grafting bare-root stock onto their trees. The purpose is twofold: 1) To impart certain characteristics (such as hardiness or disease resistance) into an existing tree so that it may withstand adverse weather conditions better than its genetics would allow; 2) To alter the shape of the tree so that it conforms more readily to certain horticultural practices common across different regions or climates where they might be grown. * Pollination – For a fruit tree seedling planted at home today will eventually produce apples tomorrow, one must ensure adequate pollination takes place between two compatible apple varieties on opposite sides of their shared fence line next door. * Storing fruits after harvest should ideally occur indoors away from direct sunlight within containers lined with waxed paper before refrigeration inside plastic bags filled with water acts as an additional barrier against mold growth.<br┤

If you’re going to build a homestead, know what you are doing first.

Homesteading is a lifestyle that involves a lot of work. If you are going to build a homestead, know what you are doing first. Homesteading has been around since the beginning of time and has many different forms depending on location and climate. Homesteading can be as simple as having your backyard garden or as complex as raising animals like chickens and planting fruit trees.

Hopefully, this has inspired some ideas for your homestead. Remember to do your research and be prepared for setbacks when it comes to homesteading. It can take a lot of trial and error before you get it right!

How to Make the Most of Your Budget When Buying a Home

When you’re buying a home, you’ll want to make your money stretch as far as it possibly can. It’s an expensive process and everyone wants to come out of it with a home that they can be happy with for a very long time to come. So we’re going to talk today about some of the steps you can take to make the most of your budget. To find out more below.

Consider Less Expensive Neighbourhoods

Considering less expensive locations in which to buy a home is something that can help your money go further. If you’re willing to sacrifice a neighborhood that you had your eye on, you can instead spend money on the size of the home, a better garden, and other features that might be more important and more appealing to you.

Try to Save 20% on a Deposit

If you can save a larger deposit, you’ll put yourself in a much stronger financial position and that’s very important when you’re trying to make your money go further. It means that you’ll have the option to increase your budget a little and that can be just what you need. All it takes is a little extra time and patience.

Speak to a Mortgage Broker to Get the Best Possible Deal

It’s almost always a good idea to work with a mortgage broker when you’re looking to secure the best mortgage deal possible. They have access to the kinds of offers and deals that you probably wouldn’t be able to find by yourself. It means that you might even be able to get a deal that allows you to buy a little more money than you might otherwise be entitled to.

Know Your Limits Before You Start Searching

Before you start the process of searching for a home, you need to know for sure what your limits are and what you can afford to buy. Having a clear budget in place allows you to streamline the process and ensure you only focus your attention on the kinds of homes that you can afford to buy. So know your limits and don’t waste time on homes out of your reach.

Avoid Getting Into Bidding Wars if You Can

Finally, you should avoid the temptation to get involved in a bidding war. When that happens, what started as quite a reasonable price can quickly escalate into something that you can’t afford. So if there’s too much competition, set a limit and stick to it. Once the bigs exceed your limits, withdraw and move on to the next home. There’s always another one.

So if you want to make sure that your budget goes as far as it possibly can, just make the most of the ideas we’ve discussed here today. Each of them will make it easier for you to get the home of your dreams and to feel happy with the purchase you make for a long time to come.

1) Guided meditation

Guided meditation is a great way to relax and clear your mind. There are many different types of guided meditation, so you can find one that suits your needs. There are also many different ways to meditate, so you can find a method that works best for you.

If you’re new to meditation, there are plenty of resources available to help you get started. Once you’ve learned how to meditate, it will be easier to focus and stay calm in stressful situations. There are also many apps available that offer guided meditation. A headspace is a popular option that offers both free and paid options.

2) Exercise

Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and improve your overall health. It doesn’t matter what type of exercise you do, as long as you’re moving your body and getting your heart rate up. Exercise releases endorphins, which have mood-boosting effects. It can also help to improve your sleep quality, which can further reduce stress levels.

If you don’t have time for a full workout, there are other ways to get active. For example, take a brisk walk in your neighborhood or go for a run. You can also try some simple exercises at home, such as yoga or Pilates.

3) Connect with nature

Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress levels and improve mood. If you can, spend some time outside every day. Go for a walk in the park or sit in your backyard after having enjoyed a Delta 8 Moonrock. If you live in a city, try to find a green space where you can relax and take in some fresh air. You can also bring nature into your home by adding some plants. Studies have shown that having plants in your home can improve your mental health and reduce stress levels.

4) Spend time with loved ones

Spending time with loved ones is a great way to reduce stress and feel supported. Whether you’re spending time with your partner, friends, or family, quality time can help to reduce anxiety and improve your mood. If you don’t have anyone to spend time with, consider volunteering or joining a club or activity group. How to De-Stress for a Clearer Mind

These are just some of the ways that you can destress for a clearer mind. Experiment with different techniques and find what works best for you. Remember to be patient and take things one day at a time. With practice, you will be able to manage stress healthily and live a more productive and happy life.

5 Effective Tips to Know What You are Worth in Assets

It’s important to know what you are worth. You can sleep soundly and make life decisions when you understand what money is available. Here are some tips for calculating your assets.

Hire Professional Services to Manage Your Assets

Money and asset management, or the administration of anything really, is best left to professionals. Whether you are in the prime of your life or reaching retirement age, you don’t need the hassle of going through finances all the time. Fortunately, some people love nothing more than helping others with the mundane. Accountants, lawyers, and stock brokers are perfect examples. So it might be a good idea to visit your local high net worth family offices and meet with trained experts who can help you reach your financial and lifestyle goals.

Include Any Available Cash

The tangible assets you own include your residential property and anything you can hold in your hands, such as cash. You can also have intangible assets such as bank accounts. Money available to you should always be considered as part of your net worth since it can significantly impact it. However, it is possible that you are not liquid and that you only have assets, not cash, available to you. It is also necessary to include any income obtained from external sources, such as wages, business income, and sales income. Then total all your cash and accounts.

Know What You are Worth with Investment Value

Almost 60% of Americans hold investments. And all ages, from the very young to the elderly, are making them. Cryptocurrencies and NFTs are trending with the young. However, traditional investments like stocks, bonds, and real estate investment trusts are still great ways to secure a future. However, when calculating your net worth, you have to include the current value of your investments and not the original ones. This can be tricky since the value of most investments varies. And cryptocurrency changes by the minute and recently suffered a major crash.

Don’t Forget About Pensions and Savings

Net worth also includes any retirement funds. You can think of it, for instance, as your 401K or pension benefits. When calculating your state pension, you must include any private or employer pension funds. Personal savings account like an IRA or a bank-managed account should also be considered. Additionally, you should also be open and honest when doing this since money held in these accounts might be subject to taxes. And the last thing you want when trying to improve your financial situation is the tax office looking at your accounts.

Remove Debts and Expenditure as the Final Step

Any current liabilities must also be removed when calculating your worth. These are just your debts. This doesn’t mean just loans or credit cards. It also includes things like your mortgage, deferred income, and current tax expenses. Additionally, living expenses and insurance policies are also part of a valuation. To work this out, sum up your annual expenses like those mentioned. Then detract this figure from the sum of all your assets listed above. After removing these expenditures and debts, you will know what you are worth.

It can be tricky to know precisely what you are worth. But you can make an estimate based on some simple calculations. Make sure you include cash, investments, and savings.

How to Give Your Child the Best Chances of Excelling in their School Work

As a mom, you want your child to have every opportunity to succeed in life. Therefore, one of the most important things you can do for them is to help them excel in their school work. That said, here are some tips to help you give your child the best chance of success.

1) Encourage Them to Develop Good Study Habits

One of the best things you can do to help your child excel in their school work is to encourage them to develop good study habits. This means setting aside time each day for them to sit down and focus on their studies. It also means helping them create a study schedule or plan, so they know what they need to accomplish each day. Finally, it means teaching them how to take effective notes and highlighting key information in their textbooks.

Encouraging your child to develop good study habits is one of the best things you can do to help them excel in their school work. Make sure they have a quiet space to work in and access to all the supplies they need. In addition, teach them how to take effective notes and highlight key information in their textbooks. You can also provide them with additional resources, such as ABCmouse, to ensure they get adequate help on their work.

2) Help Them Understand Their Learning Style

Another vital key to helping your child excel in their school work is to help them understand their learning style. For example, some children are visual learners and need to see information to learn it. Others are auditory learners and need to hear information to learn it. Still, others are kinesthetic learners and need to touch or experience information to learn it.

Also, some children learn best by working on their own, while others learn best in a group setting. Once you know your child’s learning style, you can help them tailor their studies to fit their needs. For example, if they are a visual learner, you might encourage them to use flashcards or create charts and diagrams to help them remember information.

3) Encourage Them to Get Involved in Extracurricular Activities

Another great way to help your child excel in their school work is to encourage them to get involved in extracurricular activities. This can help them develop time management skills, learn how to work as part of a team, and learn how to handle stress and setbacks. In addition, participation in extracurricular activities can also help your child’s self-esteem and confidence.

Choose activities that fit your child’s interests and abilities and that you think will challenge them. Also, make sure to be supportive of their efforts and encourage them to stick with it even when they’re struggling.

With these tips, you can give your child the best chance of success in their school work. Just remember to be patient, offer support, and encourage them to develop good study habits. In addition, participation in extracurricular activities can also help your child excel in their school work by developing time management skills, teamwork skills, stress management skills, and more. With your support, they can succeed!

STEL+MAR Wine Review

STEL+MAR Appeals To A Neglected Segment Of Wine Drinkers With Unique Brand Positioning And Highly Rated Wines At Accessible Prices

Lodi, California (April 14, 2022): STEL+MAR Wines has launched in the U.S., targeting the often-overlooked under-40 age demographic with a collection of highly-rated wines that are approachable in flavor, accessible in price, and relatable in the brand.

Can be found at HEB!!

According to the 2022 State Of The Wine Industry Report, the under 40 demographic comprises approximately 72 million people in the U.S. As this demographic matures in age, palate, and consumption tendencies, they are actively searching for brands that are aligned with their tastes and values. To appeal to this overlooked and underserved segment of potential wine drinkers, STEL+MAR’s current selection of low-sugar wines is priced at $13.99 per bottle, and features label artwork designed to resonate with its intended audience. While approachable in flavor and affordable in price, STEL+MAR’s collection is anything but basic, having received high marks from the likes of Wine Enthusiast and Vivino.

Most good entrepreneurship origin stories start with a serendipitous friendship and STEL+MAR’s beginnings are no different. Founders and fellow millennials Chris Noll and Justin Dumitrescu happened to live on the same street and met by chance through their children, Stella and Marcus, who attended the same preschool. Conversations about their shared love of wine, and a common passion for entrepreneurship, led them to discuss the lack of wine brands that appealed to their generation. To create affordable, unpretentious, crowd-pleasing wines that spoke to their senses and values, the idea of STEL+MAR was born.

“Similar to other industries, many younger consumers aren’t looking to the same brands as their parents. They care less about status and more about shared experiences with friends as well as finding great value at every level in their lives. That’s what STEL+MAR embodies in every bottle,” commented Dumitrescu. “STEL+MAR hits the trifecta of great tasting wine that is affordable and speaks to a new psychographics of a wine drinker,” continued Dumitrescu.

To bring their vision for STEL+MAR to bottle, Chris and Justin approached 40-year veteran winemaker Philip Zorn. Classically trained in the art of winemaking in Germany, Philip moved to Napa, California, in the 1970s and has made wine for some of the most notable wineries up and down the California coast. Philip joined STEL+MAR because he saw value in Chris and Justin’s concept for creating award-winning wines that are approachable in taste and cost.

“I appreciate the vision that Chris and Justin have for STEL+MAR and their unique approach to the industry. More importantly, their focus on all the other elements of building a successful winery allows me to focus exclusively on making the best wine possible,” commented Zorn.

Current Selection

STEL+MAR is launching in the U.S. with three crowd-pleasing wines, approachable in price as well as taste. Its current portfolio includes:

  • California Cabernet Sauvignon ($13.99): Full-bodied and deliciously juicy, STEL+MAR’s classically-styled Cabernet Sauvignon was made with grapes grown in select vineyards from Central and North Coast California. The palate explodes with fresh blackberry, caramel, and a hint of coffee, and is underpinned by delicate tannins. Ruby red with aromas of black currant, cherry, and toasted vanilla. It received a Best Buy award and an 88-point rating from Wine Enthusiast.

· California Chardonnay ($13.99): Full-bodied with bright tropical fruit, butterscotch, and toasty oak spice flavors on the palate. The mouthfeel is rich and rounded with a long finish with layered acidity. Green apple, baked pear, and nutmeg aromas on the nose are the foundation of this crowd-pleasing California Chardonnay, which received an 87-point rating from Wine Enthusiast.

· California Rosé ($13.99): Crisp and refreshing, STEL+MAR’s first California Rose received a score of 91 from the prestigious Wine Writers’ Circle of Canada. Now available in the U.S., this is a beautifully dry wine that features peach and apricot aromas, hints of strawberry on the palate with refreshing acidity and herbal undertones.

“With STEL+MAR, our goal is to create the best wines possible at an attractive price for the under-40 segment of wine drinkers. These consumers are often misguided into thinking that you have to pay up for great wine. They’re fearful that an under 15-dollar bottle may deliver a lackluster, or worse, embarrassing experience when shared with friends. With STEL+MAR, we’re proving that you can have a great tasting wine, at a price that you’re willing to take a chance on,” commented Noll.

With an eye on the environment as well as great taste, all of STEL+MAR uses light glass bottles to lessen the carbon footprint created during the shipping process and sources the majority of its grapes from vineyards certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.

Art On The Inside And Out

For Chris and Justin, what goes on the outside of the bottle is as important as what goes on the inside. To bring its fun vintage California vibe to life, STEL+MAR collaborated with artist Stephanie Cheng, whose illustrative designs have been commissioned by such notable artists as Radiohead, Lizzo, and Childish Gambino.

Chris and Justin entrusted Stephanie to highlight the aspirational good times friends seek when sharing a bottle of wine. With images of idyllic 1950s California beach scenery that captures laid-back fun amongst friends, Stephanie’s art runs parallel to the experience STEL+MAR strives to provide in liquid form.

“The art on our labels is as unique to the industry as it is appealing. The majority of the wine labels in the $10-$20 category don’t speak to the younger generation, and if they do, the product inside is often of suspect quality,” Dumitrescu added. “We wanted labels featuring artwork you would want to hang on your walls, and not think at first that it’s a wine label.”

California, To Canada, And Back

While based in California, STEL+MAR was first launched in Canada in 2020, giving the team time to test their brand identity and make refinements before entering the hyper-competitive and much larger U.S. market in 2022.

To ensure distribution success Nationally, STEL+MAR partnered with Integrity Wellness Brands, a leading managed services company of adult beverage brands in North America, that represents such innovative brands as Bomani Coffee and Bravus non-alcoholic beer. Integrity Wellness Brands was founded by Nick Gagliardi, former COO of Monster Energy, who previously held the role of president of Artisan Beverage Brands, which managed some of the largest wine brands in the U.S., including E. & J. Gallo, J. Lohr, and 19 Crimes, among many others. Through Integrity Wellness Brands, STEL+MAR is poised to begin widespread distribution to major wine retailers throughout the U.S.

About STEL+MAR Wines

STEL+MAR makes crowd-pleasing and award-winning wines designed to appeal to the under-40 age cohort. The wine brand was built around four key principles: highly-rated wines, attractive price points, modern stand-out label art, and relevant social values. 3 Easy Meal Ideas To Improve Your Health

Photo by Foodie Factor from Pexels

Keeping a healthy diet is one of the best things you can do for your body and one of the first steps to getting a healthy lifestyle. A balanced diet offers your body the nutrients it needs and prevents you from feeling hungry. The right balance of nutrients in your diet helps keep you healthy, boosts your immune system, and lowers your risk of developing chronic diseases like heart disease. Maintaining a healthy diet can have numerous benefits for your health. It reduces the risk of developing certain conditions such as coronary artery disease and hypertension, helps control weight gain and diabetes mellitus type 2, improves glycemic control in people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, lowers blood pressure levels, and protects against common dietary risks such as excessive sodium intake. But what does a balanced diet look like? How can you improve yours to boost your health? Keep reading to find out about three meals that will help you improve your health.

Breakfast: The most important meal of the day

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for a reason – it kickstarts your metabolism for the day. Eating a healthy breakfast can help you maintain a healthy weight, prevent heart disease, and keep your blood sugar level stable. One suggested breakfast that can help you achieve these goals is oatmeal. Oatmeal is rich in fiber, manganese, iron, zinc, and B vitamins, which are all important for your body. It can also help reduce the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes.  It is also easy to improve oatmeal with fruits and other food if you’d like a little more flavor for your breakfast. A healthy breakfast can also help prevent overeating for the rest of the day. Eating a healthy breakfast can help prevent “mid-morning” hunger pangs that often lead to unnecessary snacking. If you feel you’re at risk of going hungry throughout the day, consider increasing the portion of your breakfast. You can also mix in a small handful of trail mix or nuts with your breakfast, as these can give you some energy and keep you full for longer.

Lunch: Lean protein, veggies, and whole grains

For lunch, you’ll want to select a meal rich in protein, vegetables, and whole grains; this will keep your body running and prevent overeating during the rest of the day. In addition, keeping a close eye on your portion size is vital if you’re trying to lose weight. If you’re struggling to find a healthy lunch to bring to work, consider these lunch ideas:

  • Sandwiches – Make sure you select whole-grain bread and lean protein. Avoid mayo, which is high in fat, and instead, opt for mustard.
  • Soups – Select soups that are low in sodium and rich in vegetables.
  • Salads – These can be a great option to pair a protein and vegetables.

Dinner: More veggies, lean protein, and whole grains

You should again choose a meal rich in whole grains, low in fat, and one that helps to add vegetables to your diet when eating dinner. When selecting your meal, make sure your portion size is “moderate” – not overwhelming, but enough to keep you full.  Some great ideas for a meal rich in the essential nutrients include cooking a homemade broccoli casserole with ritz crackers and cheese, a linguini dish with avocado for potassium and fiber, and chicken satay salad for your daily protein and intake of key vitamins.

Finding a Job

When it comes to finding a job in the Middle East, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, many companies in the region have an English-language website where you can submit your resume and apply for open positions. However, it is also a good idea to brush up on your Arabic before applying for jobs, as this will make you more attractive to potential employers. Additionally, there are many international companies with operations in the Middle East, so be sure to check out their websites as well. Applying for a job in the Middle East can be a bit different than what you’re used to. In addition to submitting a resume, you may also be required to complete an application form and provide references. It is important to follow all instructions carefully and dress professionally for your interviews.

Once you have landed a job, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, it is essential to arrive on time for work and meetings. Additionally, most businesses in the Middle East operate on a hierarchical system, so it is vital to show respect to your superiors. Finally, remember that business deals are often done over meals and drinks, so be prepared to socialize with your colleagues.

Packing Your Bags

When it comes to packing for your move to the Middle East, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the climate in the region can be pretty hot, so be sure to pack light, comfortable clothing. Additionally, it is important to pack any medications you may need and to research the availability of these medications in your new country. Finally, remember to pack any important documents, such as your passport and birth certificate.

Buy Property

If you’re thinking of buying property in the Middle East, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, it is essential to consult with a real estate agent who is familiar with the region. Additionally, be sure to research the local market and be prepared to pay cash for your purchase, as mortgages are not common in the Middle East. However, many Middle East countries and cities have properties listed online. For example, you can search properties for sale in Ras Al Khaimah by clicking on the link. Finally, remember that purchasing property in the Middle East can be a lengthy process, so be patient and don’t hesitate to ask for help from your real estate agent.

Saving Well for Later Life

There are plenty of things to think about when it comes to money management. Most of us have to consider money on a monthly, weekly, or even daily basis, as we create budgets and make sure that we lead the best life possible while avoiding overspending and slipping into debt. But as well as thinking about the moment, you need to consider the future too. We can’t all work forever and most of us want to retire as early as possible, stepping away from the workplace and doing what we can to enjoy life without dedicating nine to five to tasks, projects, and deadlines. This involves putting money away during our working years. Here are a few ways to achieve this and give yourself a comfortable later life.

The first step to a good quality of life when you’re older is to ensure that you have a pension to fall back on when you’re of retirement age. There are countless ways to go about this. If you’re employed, you may have a scheme with your employer where you have a certain percentage of your wages deducted from your pay and added to a pension pot. Your employer may make contributions too. You may want to create a pension pot of your own, putting away money and saving so you have a lump sum to withdraw later down the line.

It’s good to have general savings too. You might not want to wait until retirement before buying something impressive or helping yourself to something you’ve wanted for a long time. This could be anything from a holiday home to consulting used Ferrari experts for a luxury car. There are plenty of different savings accounts out there that you can use, that tend to have much better interest rates than a standard bank account. Browse the options available to you to find one that best suits your needs in terms of interest rates, withdrawal terms, and more. Dedicate a certain percentage of your income to savings, or make deposits as and when suits you.

Rainy Day Funds

Rainy day funds are essentially the same as savings, but they tend to be there for the sake of emergencies or hardship, as opposed to buying something exciting or nice. Putting away money where you can provide you with a backup fund that can resolve issues and keep you going during harder times in life.

Having assets ensures you always have something you can sell if you need it. Whether that’s for retirement, something fun, or on rainy days. Good examples of assets include houses, cars, watches, art, or business assets are all good options.

Hopefully, some of the information above has helped you to consider some of the money you might need to put aside for later life, as well as how to go about arranging this. Keep the information in mind and get started sooner rather than later.

Is It Time to Downsize?

It can be a tricky subject – downsizing your home and looking for an apartment complex. There are many reasons that it can be the best choice – and finances are not the only reason. Perhaps your reason for downsizing is your children have left or that you want to have a home that is easier to manage.

Whatever the reason is that you just want a home that meets your lifestyle needs.

Photo by Julia Kadel on Unsplash

Unused rooms

It’s not uncommon for people to daydream about owning a house that is so big they don’t know what to do with all of the extra rooms. However, having empty bedrooms in your home isn’t always as glamorous as it sounds. Unless you have plans to turn them into craft rooms, an office or other unused rooms can feel like a waste.

Unused rooms still need to be cleaned and maintained, and unless they have a purpose, it is a lot of effort for something you simply don’t need anymore.

Lifestyle changes

Perhaps you want to change the pace of your life, are going through a divorce, or are simply relocating for work purposes. Apartments allow us to get rid of anything that isn’t serving us anymore and carefully curate what we allow into our spaces.

It is also possible that a chronic or progressive illness has been diagnosed, and an apartment on the ground floor is the best option for you right now and in the future.

Lifestyle changes can be some of the most important reasons to downsize.

In an ideal world, people wouldn’t lose jobs, and there wouldn’t be money worries, but unfortunately, these things can and do happen. Having to be tighter on your finances is a great time to think about if you can get away with a smaller property.

Downsizing from a larger property can enable the owners to free up some cash.

When your circumstances change, downsizing can make all the difference to what you have left in the bank at the end of the month.

Perhaps you want to move closer to friends and family, and one of the only ways that can happen is by going to a smaller home or apartment. Being far away from your family when you need them, or vice versa can be tough.

But downsizing so that you can make the next soccer game or see your grandchildren graduate is something that money can’t buy.

Larger homes cost more when it comes to maintenance. And over time, nothing can feel like a small job. Cleaning takes a long time, gutter cleaning, gardening, and making sure that the damp smell isn’t something more serious.

While smaller properties still have their fair share of problems, they are often much smaller, cheaper, and manageable.

Downsizing allows you to explore plenty of exciting options, and you can decide the type of lifestyle you’d like going forward. But moving often comes with a lot of upheavals, so here are some times to make it work for you: Coping With Moving House.

Keeping Your Dog’s Immune System Strong

Pic – CCO License

Just as you would need to make sure of with your children, your dogs to have an immune system that you need to make sure is as strong as possible. This helps to keep their physical health and mental health in much better condition, and it means that you are going to have a much easier time looking after them in general too. So what are some of the things you can do to help support a strong immune system in your pooch? Here are some of the most important considerations on this front that you might want to bear in mind.

Take Them For Daily Walks

One of the most important round health concerns for dogs is that they are getting enough exercise, which is why you need to take them for daily walks wherever possible. Unless you absolutely cannot for some reason, you should make sure that this is a priority, as it means that their physical wellbeing is better and that they are going to have a much better immune system on the whole. These walks vary a lot depending on the breed, but most dogs require at least one daily walk to be healthy.

Give Them Healthy Snacks

Snacks are always worth looking into here as well, and there are many kinds of snacks that you might want to give your dog which is going to be particularly good for their health and immune systems. For instance, you will certainly want to treat them with some probiotic chews for dogs, as these will help to boost their gut health, and that itself is a primary way to ensure that their health is intact. So be careful about which snacks and treats you give them, but make sure that you do so too.

Play With Them

Play is one of those vital, innate abilities that dogs have, and which are good for their overall wellbeing. You need to make sure that you are encouraging their sense of play as best as you can, as doing so is going to mean that they are moving around more, that their mood is vastly improved, and that they are going to be in a much better state of health on the whole as well. Play with them every day to ensure that they are in the best possible state of their immunity. You’ll be surprised how much it helps.

Watch Out For Illnesses

If your dog does succumb to an illness, it’s going to help them out hugely if you are aware of it as soon as possible, so that you can do something about it sooner rather than later. It’s therefore a really good idea to make sure that you are watching out for any illnesses that your dog might have so that you can act fast. The sooner you do so, the more that you are going to be able to keep them in a good condition, which is what matters.

How To Help Your Child Settle Into A New School

Changing schools can be difficult for children, at any age. Often, moving to a new home, and losing touch with school friends and families can cause a lot of emotional and behavioral issues.

There are several things that you can do to ease the transition.

Seek help with any existing behavioral issues first

If your child has any existing issues around anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, or similar, then changing schools could potentially make these worse. Getting help as early as possible could help you deal with these. Places such as the Alpine Academy are dedicated to this. You can read Alpine Academy reviews to see if they could be suitable for your family.

Start preparing them as soon as possible

It might seem like a good idea to shorten the amount of anxiety or upset your child might feel by not telling them about the move until the last minute. While it might be easier for you, it’s not good for them in the long run. Tell them as soon as possible and talk to them about how they’re feeling.

Keep it upbeat

Even young children can pick up on things that you say, or any negative feelings you might have towards the move.

So when you’re talking to your child about the move or even discussing things with your partner, don’t discuss any negatives or concerns you may have had. Focus on the exciting aspects and keep it positive.

Let them get involved

The feeling of overwhelm in your child can often stem from having no control over their situation. After all, they probably weren’t involved in choosing a new house or school.  Find things that you can give them some choice over, like decorating their new room, or choosing their bag and stationery for their new school. These might be small things but they can go a long way to giving your child some feeling of control over their life.

Try and meet new classmates outside of school

Making new friends is going to be the key to settling into a new school environment. Try and get the contact details of some of the parents in your child’s new class and set up a few playdates before they start school. That way, when they show up for their first day, they’ll already know people.

Keep in touch with old friends too

Try to keep ties to your child’s previous friends and school. It’s good for them to maintain these connections, especially if they’ve been particularly close. Even if you’ve moved far away, you can still have video chats.

Give them time

There’s no timetable for your child to feel at home in a new school and make a lot of new friends. In some cases, it may be quick, for others, it might take months or longer. It may not be a straight path either, your child might settle in relatively quickly, but then begin to feel the stresses of being in a new environment later on. There’s no right or wrong.
