Do you love moving? The after-result of moving is great, but moving isn’t exactly the most fun thing to do when you are in the thick of it. I always really dread it. It just takes up so much time, it’s hard on your joints and muscles, and the packing process is the worst! If only there were quick and easy ways to speed up your move and then forget about the process after. Wouldn’t that be great?! I think so. Well, after many moves, I have figured out ways to speed up the moving process (but it still requires work). Here are some of my best tips:
Pack Up The Hardest Room First
Always tackle the most challenging room first. The reason for this is that if you are dreading a certain room or space in your home, you will keep putting it off until the very last minute and that will put a lot of unnecessary stress on you. When you get the worst out of the way first, you are more inclined to finish the rest of your home because you feel accomplished, motivated, and ready to take on the rest of your home. In addition to starting with the most challenging room, I always recommend starting early. Start packing and cleaning before you need to. That way, on the day of the move, it can be as stress-free as possible.
Set A Timer
If you are having a hard time getting motivated to pack and/or clean, setting a timer can help a lot. This not only will force you to get the work done, but it will make you get the work done faster, instead of dilly-dallying and putting it off. I take advantage of this method in all aspects of my life (incorporate it into your work day and you will see how beneficial it is!), but when you use it for packing and cleaning, things will speed up and motivate you along the process.
Utilize Page Relocation
If you want to speed up the moving process and forget about it afterward, using a moving company such as Page Relocation is the way to go. With Page Relocation, you can rest easy AND speed up your moving process. They have GPS tracked fleet with dashcams, so everything is tracked. They use padding and stretch wrapping and floor pads and doorway protectors to make sure that your home is protected. They also use W2 employees who are trained, drug tested, background checked, and insured. Since they are trained, they know the ins and outs of how to move with ease – no matter what they run into! Page Relocation is a great Atlanta office mover and they always aim to go above and beyond to exceed expectations.
Don’t Wait To Unpack
When you do get into your home, do not wait to unpack or you will never get around to it! Instead, start unpacking from day one. Once you get everything out of the boxes, it will make putting away your items that much easier because you can see the progress happening with your own eyes.
To be able to speed things up would be awesome. Moving sure is a pain in the rear.
These seem like great tips to help make moving easier. I especially like the strategy of packing up the worst room first.
The quickest move I’ve ever seen made was when my sister hired a moving company to move from California back home to PA. They had her stuff all packed in trucks in two days! And home to PA about a week later.
We just moved 6 months ago and now moving again. It is hard work!
